Getting to the glass

Adi has moved on with his all too brief love-affair with the dining table and has now taken to worshipping the crockery cabinet, a flimsy particle-board box from Hypercity (Ikea, get your ass to India already!). What secrets the cabinet holds, Adi wonders and then proceeds to find out by jerking one of the doors open. Ah, glass stuff! Wine glasses! Shot glasses! Champagne flutes! A couple of vases that Mom has hidden from my eagle eye! Bowls! Dishes! HA HA HA! Let me see what happens if I fling one down with all my force, hmmm, my lovelies?

"ADI! ADI! NO! NO! NO!" shrieks the mater and runs to the rescue of the mentioned glass items, picking up the boy just as he gleefully selects one goblet to commence the experiment.

"WAHHHHH!" protests Adi at being separated from the magical world the charms of which he was just beginning to discover.

"ARREY MERA BACHHA! KISNE MAARA?" screams Padma, running from the kitchen.

Maybe I should buy more child locks, I wonder crossly as Padma soothes Adi's ruffled feathers. Fat lot of good they will do though. All he can think about when he sees one of those is how to take it apart, piece by piece, sytematically. And normally succeeds with impressive speed. There is no other place to put the glass stuff in in this tiny house.

These days I have taken to putting my chair in front of the cabinet and sitting on it like a jealous and zealous naag-devta guarding his mani from the eyes of the evil wannabe icchadhaaris. Adi is circling my chair in a predatory manner, telling me in no uncertain terms that sooner or later, mother, I will get into your glass shelf and then, and then...HA HA HA!

We will keep you posted on what happens next.

remember in the days of yore when grand mothers would have fire screens or tapestries framed and put in front of the fire place...place something similar in front of the 'cabinet of all things lovely' or just get some double sided tape and stick everything down (it will add 20 minutes to your getting the drinks out when you have company)

Yes...we are waiting eagerly to read about the sequel. Until then, sit tight before that cabinet.

I wish Adi-All the best :P

aneela z - But he will get behind the tapestry, won't he? Assuming we have place to keep a screen (we don't!).

shobana - But what happens when I need to visit the loo?

manasa - what about me? what about me?

can you tie up the doors with a rassi across the door handles? you can find a pretty rassi! it wont be superbly asthetic, but something that will take some time for Adi to figure out? hopefully? considering how quickly he seems to find ways to destroy best laid plans!! hehe!

and yeah let us know wat happened next?~!

cheers!

Thankfully, we bought our drinks cabinet when Ayaan was in the toddler stage and asked the furniture shop to add locks!! Otherwise, I would be all out of crystal by now...

suma - oh well, I guess he does!

mama-mia - yeah, maybe I will do that! now to find a rassi.

cuckoo - vodka? who? me? never! heh heh!!

ss - I guess so...available in singapore? M is going on Sunday.

nainaashley - well, at least someone is laughing!

orchid- yeah, mine!

rohini - ya...I am hoping he will outgrow this fascination quickly!

I was going to suggest rassi too. My son would manage to slide open the locks we put on sliding glass doors, and destroy whatever he'd lay his hands on, mostly audio cassettes.
All the best, Parul. Stay sane:)

Just questioning if eBay allows you to sell concert tickets on-line? Do you know if you'll find any restrictions based on what country you are in?

My parents have just referred to as me and asked if i could "get rid" of their two tickets to some concert as they wont be able to make it because of another family event.

Besides asking pals etc, i thought ebay would be an excellent location to sell them.

But whats ebay's policy on marketing tickets? Ive heard alot about it on the news but ive forgotten what happened.

and if it matters, the concert is inside this coming month

Thanks ahead of time for your advice.
